thanks soooo much for adding this forum!!! I appreciate that you took up the suggestion.Hope it's helpful. If it needs some direction from the Admin I will be glad to take direction.Anything to help!

I wouldn't say that the NAM is advancing in the Church. However, there are dissidents with own agendas and that makes this a very real concern. I would also say that all kinds of movements have advanced in our culture period and has had an affect on persons of all denominations.
These are ppl and places Catholics ought to avoid:

The NAM cannot advance in the Church for one.The teaching authority of the Church does not pass on anything new. But i am concerned that Catholics as individuals who are not as faithful as they ought to be would be more easily led because they do not know their faith well enough.
Let's take a look at Catholic teaching on this subject:
    from the Catechism
2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

Fr.Mitch Pacwa also has several books on this topic:

The bottom line for a Catholic to avoid confusion is to KNOW their faith and practice it.
That,I believe,is true for any Christian.
